What Can You Tell Me About My 1 Dollar Business?

My 1 Dollar Business is a new pyramid scheme based upon a previous company run by the same person. The website, having been registered in 2016, names Steve Gresham as being the founder and operator of the company and says that he is based in Georgia.

Greshams’s first foray into the world of MLM schemes was in 2012 with a company called Savings Highway. This was a matrix-based recruitment scheme that marketed monthly affiliate memberships to people, with affiliates being rewarded for how many people they were able to introduce to the company. Savings Highway collapsed at some point in the past few years, and seems to have spurred Gresham on to launching My 1 Dollar Business which has a great deal of similarities with the other business.

Does My 1 Dollar Business Offer Any Products?

There are no products available for My 1 Dollar Business affiliates to sell to retail customers. Rewards for affiliates are based on their ability to recruit new members. Affiliate membership includes:

“membership benefits programs, 24-hour roadside assistance, family legal plan, 24-hour shopping concierge, worldwide travel program, worldwide condo program, tax deduction software, vacations, personal development success modules and more.”

Membership also provides access to a store through which various ‘popular’ products can be purchased (something that seems to be a third party service).

What Kind Of Compensation Plan Does My 1 Dollar Business Have?

My 1 Dollar Business rewards affiliates for their ability to recruit new members. The company uses a 2×10 matrix structure to calculate this, within which each affiliate is required to purchase a $1 per month position.

The 2×10 matrix that My 1 Dollar Business uses is created by placing the first affiliate in a position at the top of the matrix, with two positions directly beneath them. These two positions are referred to as the First Level. Again, two positions are created directly beneath each position on the First Level to form the Second Level, and this process continues until ten levels have been created. In total there are 2046 positions in a 2×10 matrix.

This translates into earnings and rewards in the following ways:

  • Residual Recruitment – Affiliates earn 5 cents per month for each affiliate that is place in any position within the matrix. (to be eligible to receive this commission, the affiliate is required to have recruited at least two new affiliates, and continually paying the $1 per month fee)
  • Direct Recruitment Commission – Affiliates earn 20 cents for every affiliate they have personally recruited
  • Matrix Phases – Affiliates have the chance to increase the amount they pay per month in return for increased levels of commission. There are different stages of this process available, with monthly amounts ranging from $10 to $100 and increasing the levels of commission up to $20 for each affiliate recruited and $5 for each one placed within the matrix.
  • Vacation – By reaching Matrix Phase 4 (at a cost of $100 per month) and having recruited ten affiliates who have done the same, you receive a 7-night vacation.
  • Profit Sharing – By reaching Matrix Phase 4 and having recruited 100 members that have done the same, you will receive a share in the company wide affiliate membership fees. You receive a share for every 100 affiliates you recruit.

Super Affiliate Vacation – Any affiliate that has recruited a hundred new affiliates, with at least fifty of them being at Matrix Phase 4, will receive a Super Affiliate Vacation consisting of “an all expense paid vacation including airfare for two plus $1000 spending money for food and drinks.”

What Is The Cost Of Membership With My 1 Dollar Business?

Membership of My 1 Dollar Business is linked to the $1 per month membership fee. To take advantage of everything the company is offering requires a monthly payment of $181

Conclusion for My 1 Dollar Business

Without having any retail-able products My 1 Dollar Business has only one source of revenue, from membership fees, which makes this a pyramid scheme. Promised returns to affiliates are being paid for by the subsequent investments made by newer members, which means this company structure is completely unsustainable. Yes there are products and services included in membership, but the clue as to how concerned about recruitment that the admins are is clear by the reward structure- it massively encourages continual recruitment of new members, which is vital for its continual running. They say on the website that,

“Nearly everyone has $1.00 and the system can take you automatically from $1.00 up to hundreds or thousands in potential monthly income and provide valuable benefits without any extra work!”

Yes, there are benefits that are included through membership, but it’s unclear whether these are worth the involvement, so assuming you’re thinking of getting involved with the income opportunity with no value attached to these perks, then My 1 Dollar Business will, unfortunately, suffer the same fate as Savings Highway and many other schemes like this. When all payments rely on membership payments of recruited affiliates, the company needs a constant introduction of people to keep up. At some point recruitment will slow down, and this is where the problems start. When this happens, those that are in positions lower down in the matrix will stop receiving any commissions. They will, in turn, stop paying their monthly fees and the effect will start to work its way up the chain. Soon, with a rapidly decreasing pot of money to pay out to affiliates, the scheme will completely collapse. Those that had not made a return on their investment will have lost out- something that, by definition, will be the position that the majority of members find themselves in. Only people in the top positions (the owner and his friends) will stand to profit.

My 1 Dollar Business is not built on safe foundations, and will inevitably collapse just like Gresham’s previous company. There are many other opportunities out there that avoid the pitfalls of pyramid structures by offering retail products that supplement the company income to maintain payments to affiliates, and you should investigate these first before signing up to My 1 Dollar Business.
