Just like starting a new workout program at the Gym, the difficult part is getting started with the weekly routine. Once you are started, it’s normally smooth sailing.

I would say it’s very similar with Network Marketing (and anything else for that matter). The first few months will probably be the most difficult as you are trying to “get something off the ground”. You are launching a new business on your own and that has never been easy to do – whether it is an online or offline business.

So, this post is for those that have discovered Network Marketing and need some kind of starting point. It should be said that everyone will have their own methods that work for them. These are my methods that helped me get started in the early days.

What Would I do if I was New to Network Marketing?

1. The first thing to do is to choose an opportunity to promote, but it isn’t as simple as you think. There are a lot of them out there and some of them are Scams. Take a look at my review page (network marketing) section to find an opportunity to try out. You want to find a program that resonates with you as it’s only worth selling something that you believe in.

2. Make sure that the opportunity you choose is an Online MLM Opportunity that supports the power of the Internet. We are in the 21st Century and the only way to make decent money through network marketing is through online leverage. You want to avoid traditional home businesses where it’s all about cold calling and other old school prospecting.

3. Use a training system to learn how to build your MLM Business on the Internet. I recommend a mentorship training platoform called the Daily Marketing Coach, and you can read my review of it here.

4. Work on getting into a daily routine for building your MLM or Network Marketing business. If you develop this habit early then you will be increasing your chances of success. When I started, I aimed to do the following things every day to grow as fast as possible:

  • Write and Publish 1 Blog post Each Day
  • Build at least 1 Backlink (Minimum) Each Day (this doesen’t include social shares) – find a “quality backlink” in addition to everything else.
  • Spent at least 90 Minutes Marketing Each Day

Do you see how achievable those 3 things are?

This would allow anyone new to network marketing to get started quickly, even if they were doing it part time. In fact, that daily routine can probably be done in 4 hours.

The most time consuming stage tends to be the Blogging.

People tend to struggle with deciding what to Blog about in the early stages, not to mention having to do the writing itself.

Tip: Don’t aim for perfection with your Blog posts. Simply get them done to your timeframe and get them published. To keep yourself organised, I recommend using the Editorial Calendar WordPress Plugin which is Free.

5. Get a great sponsor and reach out to them. Before joining a network opportunity, you want to make sure that your sponsor will “have your back” and provide a good level of mentoring. Now, this is difficult if you have already signed with someone, but if you haven’t, you can save yourself some trouble if you go with someone trustworthy who knows what they are talking about. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people in this industry who just want your money.

    For activities such as a backlink building campaign, it takes time to see the results but it’s one of the easiest things to do each day.

      Yes, I completely agree. Network Marketing will always be a long term pursuit, so it really needs a long term approach.
      It needs consistent daily action and a well thought out strategy.

      I love my daily routine. It is consistent and keeps me on track with all of my goals.

      As long as people have a good strategy and daily routine, they can succeed.

I guess, the part that most of the newbies struggle is “promotion” – I am sure you tip # 4 – work on routine, at least get one link today, one post a day – are really helpful. I would like to add more to that, with the help of keyword research, finding some long tail keyword and write on it helps to get clicks from search engines too.

      Yes, that is a good suggestion. Keyword Research is something that needs to be done on a regular basis as that is how you attract your target market. It’s the foundation of everything! And that helps you decide on the blog post topics.
