What The Heck Is EthTrade?

The EthTrade website (ethtrade.org) was registered on the 26th of February, 2016. Frustratingly the registration details were set to private and the website itself is curiously sparse when it comes to details about who owns or runs the company. This secrecy is maintained as it is proving impossible to find any clues about the corporate structure at all. The only thing that can be unearthed is that it has a registered address in Hong Kong, but even this is an address for a company that provides postal addresses for other companies so gets us no further towards the truth.

When considering investment in a company it is vital that you research as much background information as possible. Companies that are offering a serious opportunity will usually be completely upfront about their corporate structure, so those that are going to such lengths to keep this information hidden should be viewed with a healthy dose of skepticism.

What Are The EthTrade Products?

There are no products for affiliates to sell with EthTrade. They are, instead, encouraged to recruit new affiliates to the scheme.

What About The Compensation Plan For EthTrade?

EthTrade’s compensation plan involves affiliates making investments for guaranteed monthly ROI’s.

The initial investment, upon joining as an affiliate, is an amount between $10 and $30,000 and offers a 25% ROI. If you withdraw any funds within 60 days of making an investment you will be charged a fee of between 15% and 30% of the funds that you have invested.

There are limits to an affiliates’ weekly investment and withdrawal that depend on your affiliate rank. The rank criteria and limits are as follows:

  • Frontier Rank – Achieved by joining as an affiliate – has a limit of $500 investment per week, and $300 withdrawal per week
  • Homestead Rank – Achieved by investing at least $500 or generating at least $5000 in downline investment – has a limit of $1000 investment per week, and $500 withdrawal per week
  • Metropolis Rank – Achieved by investing at least $3000 or generating at least $30,000 in downline investment – has a limit of $3000 investment per week, and $1000 withdrawal per week

30% of funds earned from the ROI must remain in EthTrade for at least 180 days otherwise there will be a cost of up to 85% of total invested funds.

Finally, My EthTrade Review And Conclusion!

The mysterious admins of EthTrade claim that they are using the investments to trade in cryptocurrency- something that is generating them enough profits to pay back the promised ROI’s. It’s simply unrealistic to expect to make these returns though. If they were able to, why bother setting up a company like this instead of borrowing an amount and turning it into a fortune in no time?

While some trading in cryptocurrency may well be happening here, it seems more likely that they are running a Ponzi scheme which is funding promised returns to members from the investments being made by newer members. This is why there are such rewards on offer for the recruitment of new members.

Unfortunately this type of structure is completely unsustainable and, judging by the EthTrade admins anonymity, they are likely to be totally aware of this fact. While it may start off well, they would need to continually recruit new affiliates to continue payments and this cannot go on forever. At some point the recruitment will slow down and they will be unable to keep to the promised ROI’s, which will lead to a company collapse and most people losing the majority of their investments.

MLM structures absolutely can be sustainable if run in the right way and with a decent product or service on offer to supplement the company income. EthTrade is not doing this, and is functioning as a way for its admins to make some money at the cost of the members they have signed up. My advice would be to avoid this ‘opportunity’ and look for a company that is open and transparent about their operations, and offering a sustainable proposition.
