What The Heck Is Fiverr?

If you’ve spent any time at all looking into the world of freelancing, chances are you’ve come across Fiverr at one point or another. Fiverr’s picked up a lot of steam over the past few years as one of the premier sites for listing and buying freelance work, and there’s good reason for that.

Fiverr first launched in 2009 and is being run by CEO Micha Kaufman. Fiverr has seen the completion of over 25 million different projects, and the company shows no sign of slowing down in the near future.

The main concept of Fiverr is that you join to either buy services from people or list your own, and if you’re in the market for something like this, Fiverr should absolutely have a place on your shortlist.

What Can You Tell Me About The Fiverr Products?

On the product line side of things, Fiverr doesn’t have one in the sense that it sells products or services directly to people. Instead, it’s a platform where other people can list their own services that are sold to interested buyers.

Signing up for Fiverr takes just a few minutes by making an account on its website, and once you’ve done that, you can create a “Gig.”

A Gig on Fiverr outlines the service you have to offer and the rate you’ll sell it for. Most Gigs go for around $5 (hence the name “Fiverr”), with examples of services including video editing, ghostwriting, designing a logo, etc.

Once your Gig is listed, you’ll sit back and wait for someone to purchase it. If you’re a video editor, someone searching for video editing services on Fiverr will come across your Gig, and if they like what they see, purchase your services.

After the job is done, you’ll be paid and receive feedback from the client that you worked with. As you work with more satisfied customers and build up 5-star ratings, you should find it easier and easier to get more work.

What Can You Tell Me About The Fiverr Compensation Plan?

Looking a bit closer at the money-making side of things, all Gigs start out at the basic price of $5. You can offer Gig Extras with your services, such as faster delivery times, that will allow you to get paid more.

If you have a more complex service you’d like to offer, Fiverr does allow you to set your own price — with the current limit set at $1500.

As you complete Gigs, you’ll progress through Fiverrs various levels, including New Seller, Level 1, Level 2, and Top Rated Seller.

As a New Seller, you’ll be able to list 7 Gigs at a time, have access to two Gig Extras, and five gig Multiples. As you work your way up all the way to a Top Rated Seller, you can list 20 Gigs at any given time, you’ll get five Gig Extras, fifteen Gig Multiples, and priority customer support.

Fiverr still needs to make money, however, meaning you’ll be faced with a processing fee of 2% or $1 of your sale — whichever number is higher.

Are There Membership Fees For Fiverr?

If you want to join Fiverr for yourself, you can sign up for free on the company’s website.

What’s your Conclusion About Fiverr?

This is one of those reviews where I can wholeheartedly recommend the company in question.

You’ll need to learn how to present and market yourself to ensure you complete as many jobs as you can, and while those skills can take some time to learn, Fiverr itself is an excellent company that’s definitely worth a look.
