What Can You Tell Me About Nefful?

Nefful was founded in Japan by Hisami Kamijo in 1973. It has since expanded through Taiwan, the US, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore and is overseen by the Chairman, Toshiya Kamijo. Claiming to have over 600,000 active worldwide affiliates, they offer a wide product range for affiliates to sell to customers, and seem to still be running strong.

Does Nefful Offer Any Products?

The products offered by Nefful are from a range of ‘negative ion’ clothing, bedding and accessories that the company has developed itself. They say on their website that,

“In 1979, the company introduced its Nefflon product line- garments, bedding and accessories that employ negative ion technology to enhance good health, increase vitality and improve focus”

They continue to say that,

“Negative ions may not be unusual, but negative ion clothing is. Numerous studies have shown that negative ions have a positive effect on good health and even aging.”

Important to note at this point is that there are no links provided to evidence of this research that supports the claims of the product- there are plenty of customer testimonials that it works, though.

The Nefful website shows a large catalogue of available products, highlights of which include;

  • Negative Ion Blanket – $1800
  • Negative Ion Shawl – $380
  • Negative Ion Beanie – $96
  • Negative Ion Cardigan – $550
  • Negative Ion Leg Warmers – $135
  • Negative Ion Circulation Socks – $95

They also offer a range of body washes, clothes washes and nutritional drinks.

What Kind Of Compensation Plan Does Nefful Have?

Affiliates of Nefful purchase products to sell to retail customers, as well as receiving rewards for recruiting new affiliates who do the same. There are six affiliate ranks, with a member progressing through the ranks as they increase their group sales volume (the amount of product they personally buy, as well as the product that those they have recruited buy). The Nefful ranks are;

  • Consultant – Achieved by becoming a Nefful affiliate at a cost of $55
  • Manager – Achieved by generating at least 150,000 Group Volume across your first three unilevel model levels in three months.
  • Area Manager – Achieved by generating at least 600,000 Group Volume across your first three unilevel model levels in three months AND recruiting at least two affiliates who are at Manager rank
  • Area Manager+ – Achieved by recruiting at least two affiliates who are Area Manager rank
  • Area General Manager – Achieved by generating at least 6,000,000 Group Volume per month AND recruit at least five affiliates who reach Area Manager rank
  • Executive Top Leader – Achieved by generating at least 100 million Group Volume in a calendar year.

There are 5 methods through which affiliates are able to earn commission.

  • Retail Commissions – Every Nefful affiliate earns a 20% commission on products that they have purchased from Nefful and resold on to retail customers
  • Residual Commission – By using a Unilevel compensation structure, affiliates are able to earn a further commission of between 10% and 30% based upon their affiliate rank
  • Leadership Bonus – This rewards affiliates for the sales generated by those that they have recruited to the scheme. This allows them to earn up to 5% commission based upon their affiliate rank.
  • Incentive Bonus – For affiliates ranked at Area General Manager or higher, there is a 2.5% volume bonus on the generated sales of their entire downline

NET Pool – Nefful Executive Top Leaders earn a 0.5% share of the company wide sales volume

Conclusion for Nefful

The main selling point of Nefful’s products is the unique ‘Negative Ion’ technology that makes this a health product as well as a fashion product. The problem is that there is no evidence whatsoever that the Negative Ions have any effect at all, despite what the company and its affiliates are claiming. There are lots of people out there claiming that this wonder cure can help with Parkinsons disease, ADHD, high blood pressure, psoriasis, insomnia, blndness and even strokes and cancer. To re-iterate- there is no evidence to support these claims at all, and it is immoral and illegal to sell products in this way.

The compensation plan is also quite tough on affiliates. The first reason for this is the huge amount of sales volume you need to achieve before receiving the extra commissions through the plan. Everyone earns the 20% retail commission when making sales, but to earn anything else you must be at the Manager rank at a minimum, which essentially requires you to be making $50,000 of sales per month. It will take a serious amount of time and effort to get yourself to this level, all of which benefits Nefful by recruiting their salesforce for them. Realistically only a very small number of affiliates are ever going to reach this level, let alone the higher ones that require annual sales of $100million. It just seems that most of these levels are simply unrealistic. The other concern with the compensation plan is the requirement to make a certain number of sales per month to remain eligible for the rewards. This is something that encourages autoship recruitment with those that are unable to achieve this, and opens up the possibility that some affiliates will get themselves into a very difficult position. Affiliates should only be buying product from Nefful to use themselves, or sell on to customers. Buying product to generate enough personal sales to qualify for commission is a dangerous game, and is how people end up with garages full of useless stock. They even offer an automatic ‘Autoship with PV’ option that ships product to affiliates who haven’t sold enough by a certain time each month.

Nefful are offering high cost clothing/fabric product with massively exaggerated claims. There is no evidence at all that they have the medical benefits being advertised, and in no way justify the high product costs. The compensation plan requires a huge volume of sales to become eligible, and parts of the structure can result in affiliates purchasing a large amount of stock without having any chance of selling it on. In summary, despite Nefful seeming like an opportunity with potential, it is based on questionable science and ethics, and will prove to be a massive amount of work to make any returns from. There are many other MLM opportunities out there that don’t require affiliates to sail so close to the line of legality as this one, so go find one of those instead.
