What Is The Saladmaster Opportunity?

SaladMaster has been creating for quite a bit of talk and commotion in the MLM world recently, and this is quite impressive and surprising when you consider the fact that the company was originally founded all the way back in 1946.

Harry Lemmons founded SaladMaster, with the story being told as follows –

“In 1946, the Saladmaster brand began in the home of Mr. Harry Lemmons. During that first year, Mr. Lemmons’ sales force grew from just three people to more than 100.

However, a few years later in 1979, Regal Ware Inc. purchased SaladMasters and is the company that is still running and managing the SaladMaster name and business.

After doing a bit of digging and research, I was able to learn that a Mr. Keith Peterson is the current President of SaladMaster. This info isn’t found anywhere at all on the SaladMaster website, and If found this to be very strange. There’s no reason indicated as to why this is, so the reason for the lack of this info is anyone’s guess.

On his official profile on LinkedIn, Keith Peterson’s affiliation with SaladMaster is listed only as “current.” This means that there’s no way of knowing when Peterson first got started with the company, and I found this to be quite odd as well.

This lack of information for a brand-new startup would be more understandable, but when you consider the fact that SaladMaster is one of the oldest MLM entities in existence, I found this absence of proper background information to be rather shocking.

Saladmaster Scam

What Can You Tell Me About The Saladmaster Products?

When it first hit the ground running, SaladMaster sold one single “unique product.” This time “offered a new, time-saving technique for slicing fruits and vegetables for salads.”

Fast forward to 2017, and SaladMaster describes its products as being “made in the U.S.A. using carefully selected American and Swiss stainless steel.”

That’s not a huge departure from what SaladMaster originally stared with, and the progression from one single product to a whole lineup of kitchenware seems like a very natural growth process.

Looking at the SaladMaster product lineup as of right now, the main categories of items that the company sells includes the likes of food processors, skillets, griddles, bowls, bakeware, tea kettles, cutlery, roasters, and more.

The official website for SaladMasters doesn’t offer any retail pricing for any of their products, but after doing by own research, I was able to find that some of the company’s cookware sets can sell for as much as $2000.

What Can You Tell Me About The Compensation Plan?

In keeping with the trend of not offering concrete information on its website, SaladMaster does not provide an official compensation plan anywhere at all.

This is almost unforgivable when you consider the age of SaladMaster, but despite this massive roadblock, I was able to find a recent edition of the company’s “Spirt of Success” plan. As such, the following information was taken from that.

MLM Commission Qualification

Before you can start earning money as an affiliate for SaladMaster, you need to meet three main requirements that the company has set in place.

The first of those requirements sees you needing to recruit at least one other individual to become an affiliate for the company.

Secondly, you need to sell a minimum of one set of cookware that SaladMaster offers.

Last but not least (and certainly the most odd), SaladMaster requires all members to “cook a minimum of four dinners.”

Retail Commissions

On the retail side of things, affiliate are paid a certain commission rate whenever they sell SaladMaster cookware and other items to retail customers.

The amount of money that’s earned is dependent on an affiliate’s rank within the company, and the available commission rates are as follows –

  • Consultant affiliates earn a commission of 10% for all sales
  • Senior Consultant affiliates earn a commission of 15% for all sales
  • Group Manager and higher-ranked affiliate earn a commission of 20% for all sales

Residual Commissions

Residual commissions make an appearance here as well, with these being paid out whenever a personally recruited affiliate for yours’ is able to sell cookware.

A 2% residual commissions ate is paid out to members who are ranked as a Consultant or Senior Consultant, and those that are ranked as a Group Manager or high get that residual commission rate increased to 3%.

What Will It Cost To Join Saladmaster

If you like what you see here and are interested in becoming an affiliate for SaladMaster, there’s unfortunately no information provided on the company’s website in regards to how much an affiliate membership actually costs.

The only info I was able to find in relation to this matter is the following statement –

“The initial investment to join Saladmaster is minimal – especially when compared to the expensive up-front costs of other businesses, like franchising.”

Is Saladmaster A Scam?

So, like with all business opportunities, you will hear things around the internet about there being a Saladmaster scam or something like that.

And from what you have read, you may also wonder if this is legit or a complete scam.

So, what’s the truth?
Is there a Saladmaster scam going on or is this legit?

Well, to be honest, Saladmaster is not really a proper scam or anything like that.

But there are some things to be aware of (see conclusion section).

That is how you will be successful.

See below for help with making money.

My Saladmaster Review Conclusion

SaladMaster must know a thing or two about MLM if its been in business since the mid 1940s, but the lack of basic background information, retail pricing, joining costs, etc. all create for a rather uneasy feeling with the company.

This is an opportunity that feels incredibly faceless, and with MLM (or any business opportunity for that matter), that’s never something you want to see.

I also found there to be a very wide array of availability for SaladMaster products being sold through second-hand retailers. This sort of activity is somewhat to be expect with a company that first started in 1946, but it could also make your job as an affiliate much more difficult when it comes to trying to sell to retail customers.

In regards to the compensation plan, it’s a very far stretch to even consider SaladMaster to be an MLM opportunity.

One of the biggest issues I have with the SaladMaster compensation plan has to do with the requirement that affiliates are required to recruit a new member every single month in order to be eligible for the commissions.

Although SaladMaster isn’t technically paying affiliates to recruit other individuals to join the company, you will need to recruit more and more people in order to keep earning money through your retail sales activity.

This sort of activity has SaladMaster balancing on a very thin line that could place it in pyramid scheme territory.

There are certain things about SaladMasters that I genuinely like, but there are too many red flags and signs of caution that prevent me from wholeheartedly recommending it.

This is a company that you’ll definitely want to do a bit more research into if you’re really curious about joining it, but for most people, you’re better of with another opportunity entirely.

Hopefully, you have found my Saladmaster Review useful.

I wanted to give a lot of details because there have been other reviews of Saladmaster which were a bit thin on the detail side.

No matter what happens, if you really want to succeed with any business, you have to learn how to market properly.

And, my training below will help you do that and make money!
