What Is Synergy Worldwide?

Right off the bat, I was able to see that Synergy Worldwide is based out of Utah in the United States. The company was founded all the way back in 1999 by that of a Dan Higginson, and Synergy Worldwide operates in the niche of nutrition and fitness.

Looking at Higginson’s history, it looks like the man has had a great deal of involvement with the marketing work for Synergy Worldwide over in Japan.

According to his corporate bio on the Synergy Worldwide website, “Dan’s goal was to build a company that would help people everywhere attain better health, grow more prosperous, and support communities in need.”

About a year after its initial launch, Synergy Worldwide was sold to Nature’s Sunshine Products — the company that created Nature’s Sunshine.

I tried looking into Dan Higginson a bit more to see what his past MLM history consisted of, but I wasn’t able to find any such information. His bio on Synergy Worldwide’s website suggests that, prior to his time with the company, he worked as a professional speaker and and consulter for management and growth.

Dan Norman acts as the President for Nature’s Sunshine Products, and his corporate bio says that he has, “many years of experience in the network marketing industry and an extensive background in all aspects of information technology.”

What Products Are Being Sold?

Taking a look at the product line that Synergy Worldwide has to offer, we’re met with a ton of various supplements that are all targeted at making you a healthier and happier individual.

All of Synergy Worldwide’s products are created at the Nature’s Sunshine Products’ plant in Utah, and the products that Synergy Worldwide are broken up into a few main categories.

Those categories include —

  • ProArgi-9+
  • Heart Health
  • Core Nutrition
  • Weight Management
  • Fitness
  • Personal Care

Something that I found to be interesting was the lack of retail pricing information. The Synergy Worldwide website offers wholesale pricing info, but there’s no mention of what the actual retail cost is.

There seems to be a good variety of products available to choose from, if a bit bland and commonplace for an MLM opportunity operating in this niche.

Info On The Synergy Worldwide Comp Plan

In regards to making money as an affiliate for Synergy Worldwide, you’ll need to advertise and sell products to retail customers in order to secure a commission.

This sort of activity is always great to see, but something that’s not so nice is the heavy emphasis that’s placed on having affiliates sign up for monthly autoship orders and trying to get other individuals to do the same thing.

Commission Qualification

Before affiliates can start earning commissions, they must first properly qualify for them.

The rate for qualifying for commissions is dependent on which plan you’d like to join, meaning that your monthly PV rate that you need to generate can be either 60, 120, or 150. In this case, choosing a more expensive plan that requires you to generate more PV will increase your overall income potential within the compensation plan.

However, this isn’t the only way that affiliates need to qualify for commissions.

Just to maintain the active status as an affiliate for  Synergy Worldwide, you’ll need to maintain a PV rate of 240 every six months.

PV stands for Personal Volume, and it is generated as either products that you sell to retail customers or purchase yourself.

You can choose to focus on retail sales, but Synergy Worldwide places a big focus on getting people to self-qualify themselves.

Retail and Recruitment Commissions

After you’ve qualified to earn commissions within Synergy Worldwide, you can earn money through both retail and recruitment activity.

On the retail side of things, you’re able to earn money when you get customers to purchase product from Synergy Worldwide every month.

There’s no clarification as to whether or not direct retail sales are paid through preferred customer orders or not, and it’s also stated that affiliates can choose to purchase products for themselves and then resell them to retail customers.

As for recruitment, a commission of $50 is earned whenever you are able to recruit someone who joins as an Executive affiliate.

Get someone to join as an Elite member? Get a commission of $100.

What Will It Cost Me To Join Synergy Worldwide?

If you’d like to join Synergy Worldwide, you’ll need to first cover an initial membership fee of $24.95.

From here, you have a choice of which membership plan you’d like to sign up with.

There are three main ones to choose from, with you needing to decide if you want to purchase 150 PV, 300 PV, or 500 PV worth of products.

Choosing to purchase a more expensive plan will allow you to earn more, and this is something we’ll talk about more in just a second.

Any Truth To The Synergy Worldwide Rumours?

Any time a new business opportunity launches, you will always hear rumours about them being scams – so is Synergy Worldwide a scam?

From reading above, you might already be thinking Synergy Worldwide is a scam.

So, is it?

Is there a Synergy Worldwide scam, or is it legit?

To be honest, Synergy Worldwide isn’t a complete scam.

However, there are some red flags to be worried about, which I discuss in the conclusion.

See my tips below for helping to make money.

And Now, My Synergy Worldwide Conclusion

To wrap all of this up, let’s go back to the product line.

Synergy Worldwide’s offerings have some overlap with what’s being sold through Nature’s Sunshine, but this is to be expected when you consider that both companies sell products made by the same manufacturer.

The main difference between the two companies is that, while Synergy Worldwide has a decent selection, it’s considerably smaller than Nature’s Sunshine’s offering of more than 600 items.

While this could be seen as an issue for some, the real pain point has to do with the fact that affiliates are blatantly paid to recruit other individuals to join the opportunity.

Furthermore, if you get someone to join who purchase a more expensive plan, you’re able to earn a larger commission.

This is something that’s often referred to chain-recruitment, and it’s never something that you want to see in the world of MLM.

Along with this, there’s also a heavy element of affiliates needing to shell out a lot of cash if they want to full maximize on the income opportunity being offered.

This is called “pay to play”, and when you factor it on top of the chain-recruitment element, you’re looking at two big red flags that should deter you from this particular opportunity.
