How To Track Your Network Marketing Campaigns

how to track your network marketing campaignsSo many topics are talked about in this industry but this one seems to be neglected quite a bit. It’s so important to know how to track your network marketing online campaigns and that is why I have decided to Blog about it!

Why Track Your MLM Results?

Ever heard of the quote: “If you can’t track it, you can’t control it“?

Everyone in the industry speaks about doing lots of testing. Well, once you test things you need to look at the results to understand if it worked. If it works, you can scale it up. If it doesn’t, you can do something else. It’s pretty simple!

If you aren’t tracking your MLM results properly, you are just guessing what works and not acting like a proper marketer.

How To Track Your Network Marketing Campaigns?

Before I start, remember that these are the methods that I use and teach to my team. There are different methods that people use but this is what works for me. It’s simple to setup and doesn’t involve embedding conversion tracking code onto the page.

1. The first thing to do is to assign different landing pages to different campaigns as below:

domain.com/landing1               (Youtube)
domain.com/landing2               (Solo Ad, Vendor X)
domain.com/landing3                (Social Media)

…..and so on…

The landing pages can be called whatever you like, as long as you understand (and document) what each one is assigned to. You will then use each respective landing page for each campaign. You can see how much traffic each page is getting with Google Analytics, but this is only part of the solution.

2. You need to actually understand where your sales/signups are coming from to fully understand how to track your network marketing campaigns. Understand which campaigns score the most points in terms of sales conversions to know if it has worked or not. In some cases, this can be quite complicated, but it doesn’t have to be. Follow these steps:

  • When You Make A Sale, make a note of the email address and name.
  • Look at your Aweber (or other autoresponder) notification emails.
  • By the way, always make sure to keep those notification emails for this reason.
  • Using the signup contact email, search your Inbox and find the relevant Aweber notification email.

You can then see something like this at the bottom of the email:

This shows us what source the signup came from and this is especially useful when you have multiple campaigns running. You can then start assigning “conversion rates” to each campaign. For example, you know that campaign X converts at 3-5%.

Knowing these kinds of numbers lets you calculate how much you have to spend or how much web traffic you need to make a sale. Powerful information!

Here is an example: You might have spent $300 on Facebook PPC to discover that you made 3 Sales.

Your Google Analytics data tells you how much traffic you got and this can be used with the “signup data” (above) to calculate your conversion rate. If you are getting a lot of traffic but poor conversions, you can focus on improving/testing to make your funnel convert better.

NOTE: I realize that I have told you how to track but not told you how to generate leads. So, if you need to know how to generate all the leads you need to become a top earner, feel free to grab my free ebook below that explains how:
