What Is Network Marketing All About?

what is network marketing all aboutHave you noticed that most people don’t really understand how network marketing works?

Most people (obviously) call it a pyramid scheme straight away, but they forget that pretty much everything in life is shaped like a pyramid.

Here is an example:

So, it’s probably a bit weak to attack network marketing on the “pyramid” front. After all, within network marketing, at least you have a chance of getting to the top!

In a JOB, the higher you get, the more workload you have which increases your stress and gives you less time with your family. Within network marketing, the better you get, the more residual income you get and more time freedom.

Anyway, I have spoken in detail before explaining what is network marketing so definitely check out that post first.

In this post, I want to explain what is network marketing all about and why it’s preferred by so many people in this economy.

So, What Is Network Marketing All About?

Think of the franchise model, but a fraction of the cost and much more leveraged. You are giving people the opportunity to work with you personally and sell/distribute products that you are both passionate about.

Now, what is the problem with that?

You see, even when you start a Bricks&Mortar local business (for example), you start at the bottom (so to speak) of your industry as no-one has dealt with you before and you have no credibility. I suppose you could call that a pyramid. What nonsense.

Network Marketing is all about deciding who you want to work with, working towards leveraged residual income and time freedom. There is also a strong emphasis on personal development meaning that you will better yourself.

I know what you’re thinking: So, what are the problems with network marketing?

Well, to be honest, there are some companies out there with bad management teams, compensation plans and distributors. So, you need to make sure that you choose the right company.

But the real problem is some of the training that is provided. The industry has been around since the 1950s and somehow the old fashioned pre-internet methods are being taught exclusively instead of online marketing methods. These people need to understand what is network marketing all about – time freedom, residual income. Not being on the phone all day!

The traditional methods work (of course) but they also take hours and hours of work each week.

Conversely, using the Internet can work automatically to find better qualified prospects and give the “time freedom” that defines the industry.

To understand more about this issue, watch my www.amway.com training video below:

So, one of the main problems within network marketing is the difficult training methods that are being forced upon people who are new to network marketing.

Fortunately, I use and teach modern network marketing methods as below:

If you are thinking of getting into network marketing, or already a part of a company, that free book above will make you a top earner!

The industry is all about “time freedom”, entrepreneurship and escaping the 9 to 5 which makes the training provided a complete farce. The offline methods go against all of these values. They can be used in addition to online but shouldn’t be used instead of the Internet.

Using the Internet (in addition to offline) is the best sustainable way of building an organization, and hopefully more companies and distributors realize this before they waste too much money.

It’s a fantastic industry but 98% of those involved have never learnt anything about marketing which is why we have something like a 98% failure rate. You need to learn the principle of marketing if you want to succeed in network marketing.

network marketing pyramid schemeI hope this post has illuminated the benefits of network marketing but also the drawbacks.

There is no doubt about it. It’s a strange industry, but nevertheless a “billion dollar” industry.

It is not a perfect industry and suffers from living in the dark ages through the perspective of a lot of companies.

Let me know if you have any questions?

Or, are you currently part of a network marketing company?

If so, tell of your experience.
